The team traveled 118 miles today and is now at mile 652.
Water release at Garrison Dam, ND, almost caused the hovercraft to
float away in the morning. When the team departed, the air temperature
was a comfortable 65 degrees. The waves on Lake Sakakawea, however,
were about two feet high, slowing progress.
Around 3:00 PM, the team performed a routine check of the craft and made
all necessary adjustments.
As the team continued the trek up river through Lake Sakakawea, they made note
of the eye-catching surroundings. The vistas on the lake were incredible.
At 5:05 PM, the team landed at New Town, SD and visited a casino
run by local tribes. The team left a little later after losing 75 cents,
bringing an end to the day.
