Hovercraft tested on salt flats



The Weber State University electronics team successfully completed trail runs of their autonomous target hovercraft. Three F-16’s were used to test the ability of the aircraft to acquire the hovercraft with their weapons systems. The hovercraft project headed by Bill Clapp uses Universal Hovercraft engines and propellers to achieve 54 mph. The next version will use the same engine combination with slight adjustments to hit 65 mph.
