This 6 passenger hovercraft was designed to be quiet, efficient and fun to operate. It’s perfect for those interested in having a great hovercraft to takes friends and family on a cruise, commercial hovercraft ride business, surveying, patrolling or rescue.
The hovercraft is a composite structure making it very efficient, strong & durable. Polyiso foam (used in airplane wings) fills 100% of the hull for an unsinkable structure.
The thrust engine is a 1,000cc industrial series with liquid cooling and fuel injection. With a 900 lb payload the thrust engine runs at 3,000 rpm. Average fuel economy is 15 mpg. With a light payload the craft can easily achieve 20 mpg.
The seating was designed for the craft to be used in a hovercraft ride configuration. 6 passengers can comfortably fit in the cockpit. Configuration is; 2 passengers in the front, 2 in the middle and two in the rear of the craft.
The control system includes three vertical rudders for steering and one horizontal wing for trimming (balancing) the craft. Rudders are operated with a joystick; left right moves the rudders and moving the joystick up & down operates the trim wing. A twist grip throttle on the joystick controls thrust engine rpm. The throttle has a friction lock for cruising.
Lift engine is controlled with a lever in the instrument panel. The lever friction locked and is infinitely adjustable.
A trailer is available through Universal Hovercraft in either a flatbed or roller style setup.
New hovercraft available for immediate delivery. Will ship domestically & internationally.
The 8FS is a performance Personal Hovercraft Vehicle capable of operating over land, water, ice, snow, grass, mud and any other relatively smooth terrain. An all composite structure makes the craft lightweight, easy to transport and a ton of fun to drive.
Driving the craft is easy as it has only two controls; steering and throttle. Slowly advancing the throttle will bring the craft up on cushion. Adding a little more power accelerates the craft. Speed is easily controlled by increasing or decreasing engine rpm. First time pilots can learn to operate the craft in a very short period of time.
A Briggs & Stratton horizontal shaft engine turns a two blade 34-inch ducted propeller that provides both lift and thrust. This single engine design is both simple and reliable, and has been operated in varying conditions throughout the world. The 8F complies with the Hoverclub of America Entry Level racing requirements.
It's built from a composite sandwich construction. The combination of composite materials makes a light weight, high strength structure that is un-sinkable.
The craft will operate on land, water, snow, ice, mud, parking lots, football fields, ponds and rivers. Speed varies over each terrain. Smoother terrain will allow the craft to achieve higher speeds while rough terrain will slow the craft. Small rivers, lakes, ponds, parking lots and fields are perfect for having fun.
-Handlebar sports steering controls rudder
-Thumb throttle controls acceleration
-Fits into the back of a pickup truck for easy transportation
-Trailer not included
-Small snowmobile trailer or lightweight utility trailer will work perfectly
Craft completed in late 2007.
Attended 3 Big Spring Rallyes. Comes with trailer. Stock 10hp Tecomseh engine. Clocked at Big Spring doing 23.8mph on water with 190 lb.
pilot...faster on land! Health forces sale. Asking $2750.00 with trailer or let's talk!
I made several modifications to the plans:
Stretched 1 foot in length, upgraded to a 42" thrust fan, shroud covering the thrust engine and reduction drive,
cockpit widened to 3 ft, steering uses a Teleflex push-pull cable.
The thrust engine is a 13 HP Greyhound generator engine (electric start) with belt reduction turning a 3 blade 42" Hascon fan. The lift engine is a 5.5 hp honda turning a 5 blade 24" Hascon fan. Both engines are currently running, and only have 11 hours of runtime. Top speed on water is 20-25 mph.
The custom 12 ft trailer with folding loading ramp is included. With the ramp and winch, this craft is very easily loaded and unloaded by a single person. This would make a great entry-level craft for someone wanting to get into the sport quickly. The hovercraft is currently located in Houston, Texas.
Model: UH-13PT Year built: 2005 Thrust engine: Briggs & Stratton 18 hp Thrust propeller: 54 inch – 50 pitch wood propeller Lift engine: Briggs & Stratton 16.5 hp Lift fan: 26 inch 5 blade
This is a nice hovercraft for the person that wants to get into hovering and doesn't have the time to build one. It started its life as a UH-13P with a larger duct. When I purchased this craft I converted it into a twin engine machine for independent control of lift and thrust. You could turn it back into a belt drive lift system if you wanted but it would require the relocation of some components. It is in good shape mechanically and the skirt is also in good shape. A trailer is not included at this price but one can be available for an additional fee. I am willing to drive 1 hour from 47802 to assist with delivering the craft if it helps out the buyer free of charge. I will also include an extra new in box pre-shaped propeller and a free one year membership to the Hoverclub of America.
This is a Universal Hovercraft type UH-10F. It was built as a high school tech ed class project from 2003 to 2006. Its size is 5' x 10' and is powered by a commercial grade 15.5 horsepower Briggs & Stratton gas engine. It has maybe 1 hour total run time. Everything was purchased brand new. It needs a few finishing touches like the new throttle cable hooked up, a safety cage around the fans, and a tensioner for the fan belt. No trailer. I am selling it for the cost of materials we have in it; $2,440.81 or offer.

This is a spectacular looking craft Built by Gerry Glomski of Minnesota. Gerry’s precision craftsmanship is evident in the detailed finish of the craft. Last year Gerry fitted the craft with a 2007 4 stroke Yamaha (1K mile on engine) snowmobile engine. The new engine increased overall performance and lowered the crafts weight by 120 pounds.
The craft is controlled with a joystick turning 3 vertical rudders and one horizontal trim wing. The rudders are connected to the joystick with no maintenance push-pull cables. Gerry’s aircraft quality craftsmanship is displayed in the joystick with a custom CNC machined grip and finger throttle.
The hull is made from marine grade plywood and has 2” foam laminated inside to provide positive floatation.
The craft comes with the custom made tilt bed trailer. Unloading is a one man operation. Simply crank the jack at the front to tilt the trailer, deploy the 7’ slide ramp at the rear and hover the craft off. Craft can be loaded and unloaded on land or water.
The craft is currently in perfect operating condition. Gerry is selling the craft to make room to build another.
